Chloe's Brownies...

Last week I tried Chloe's Vegan Desserts cookbook version of brownies.  They were good.  I added some powder sugar for pretty and some raspberry sauce I had on hand from her chocolate mouse recipe because I love raspberry and chocolate anything.  If you don't have this cookbook yet buy it, it is really good.

  1. I made these today and the top didn't set up like yours... it just looked like boiling butter. Did you make any changes to the recipe?

  2. I had the same problem as the commenter above. Any suggestions?

  3. Made these once and came out perfect. Used what my mom had on-hand: Domino sugar, Rumford aluminum free double acting
Baking powder, King Arthur unbleached all purpose flour. Tried making at home and they can out an oily, bubbly mess. Only difference was brand of white flour and used vegan cane sugar. Maybe the sugar makes a difference? I would say that the first batch that I made which came out good was very very thick.

  4. Just made these. Total disaster like the other commenters. Oily mess. Followed the recipe to the letter. I bake all the time and have never seen this result in a brownie recipe.
Many other great Chef Chloé recipes, her cinnamon roll recipe is fantastic, as well as Chlotess cupcakes and lemon olive oil cake, but these brownies are a fail. :(
